International Action Network on Small Arms

The International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) is the global network of civil society organisations working to stop the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons (SALW). The network consists of more than 600 groups located in 100 countries.

We are embarking on an exciting process of organisational change and growth, including the appointment of three new staff. The successful candidates will form part of our small, dynamic and committed team based in central London. They will be team players with experience in NGOs or international organisations, and with a successful track record in policy, communications or campaigning. ll the positions require an excellent understanding of the discourse on arms control, human security, development or conflict prevention and the international policy environment in which these issues are addressed. Salary range £23 - 27,000, or more for an exceptional candidate.

Policy Officer (Ref POL01)
This position will support IANSA’s work in influencing policies. You will be responsible for monitoring external policy developments, advising on opportunities for policy development and advocacy, and helping IANSA members to understand and influence policy. More

Communications Officer (Ref COM01)
This position will support IANSA’s effort to raise awareness of the challenge posed by SALW and the solutions we are promoting. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy, working with our members on messages and media plans, and managing information flows within the IANSA network, including e-bulletins, newsletters and our website. More

Campaigns Officer (Ref CAM01)
This position will support IANSA’s global, regional, national and thematic campaigns. You will be responsible for developing and implementing IANSA’s campaigning strategy, developing campaigning resources, advising on campaign opportunities, and supporting the development of our members’ campaign capacity. More
