7 July 2004 - New Covenant Church (Kakata Margibi County) Pastor Cole W Tiaklan addressed the congregation on the dangers of the proliferation of smalls and light weapons in a post-conflict country like Liberia. He stated that guns undermines democracy, create instability, and pose a threat to the economic status of the country.

In addition, guns have created victims in Liberia, where the young and old women were raped, property was looted and destroyed, and many were left homeless. Pastor Tiaklan asked the Government to control the proliferation and misuse of small and light weapons.
