A rally against small arms was held on 9 July in Peshawar, aimed at raising public awareness regarding the devastating effects of small arms. The rally was organised by IANSA participant Community Appraisal & Motivation Programme (CAMP) in collaboration with District Government Peshawar. The rally marched through the famous Qissa Khwani Bazaar of Peshawar.

Despite the hot weather hundreds of people took active part in the rally carrying banners and placards. Prominent among the participants of the rally were,

1. Mr. Azam Khan Afridi, Peshawar District Chief Administrator
2. Mr. Haroon Ahmad Bilour, Peshawar City Administrator
3. Chairman, Mutahidda Aman Committee (United Peace Committee), Peshawar
4. Haji Shah Nawaz, President Mutahidda Aman Committee, Peshawar
5. Haji Wisal, General Secretary, Mutahidda Aman Committee
6. Haji Aleem, President Qissa Khwani Bazaar, Peshawar

Eight Union Council members of Peshawar also took part in the rally.

Prior to the rally, fliers were distributed through different NGOs in the Khyber agency of FATA and sent to CAMP members in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Media persons were also present at the occasion. During the rally the translated IANSA Fact sheets were distributed among the people. Urdu and English newspapers (including the Statesman) gave it a good coverage.
