A symbolic gun destruction ceremony was held after the press conference. Toy guns were destroyed using a hammer, some were ran over by a car.

The event was well covered by the media, both print and TV. In the evening, a program on Channel 23, 'Wazzup Wazzup’, featured the event including interviews with Jessica Soto, Fred Lubang and David Dasilva.
