KANSA holds theatre shows, concerts and soccer tournaments

The Kenya Action Network on Small Arms (KANSA) organised a press conference, theatre shows, youth concerts, soccer tournaments and a community symposia to mark the Week of Action. The events received wide coverage on both the print and electronic media.
The Daily Nation on 8 June carried three articles on one whole page on the Week of Action, the Social and Economic Consequences of SALW and the Role of Community Based Policing in Curbing the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons.
KANSA’s Youth Concert in Kayole presided by Police Inspector Tom Nyabuti from the Kayole Police Division who featured stories by gun violence victims received media coverage in the Sunday Nation.
The Daily Nation reported an activity organised by KANSA member NCCK on 14 June. Kiss FM broadcasted the Press Conference addressed by Col Kamenju (SRIC), Amb Ochieng Adala (APFO) and Peter Mbae (NCA) held on 7 June at the SRIC Office attended by KANSA members.
Kameme FM also reported the Press Conference on June 7, 2005.
A Public Forum held on 10 June presided by Nairobi Provincial Commissioner, Francis Sigei was broadcast in four FM radio stations and on Citizen TV.
