Writer François Avard joined campaigners organising a kiosk in a photo exhibiion at the Musée Juste in Montreal (Quebec) inviting people to join the Million Faces petition in support of an Arms Trade Treaty. With the shooting at Dawson College happening on the same day, Oxfam Quebec adjusted their media avocacy to include this terrible coincidence.
Chile
Letters in support of the ATT were sent to the Ambassadors of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela) by Amnesty International - Chile.
El Salvador
The Deputy Foreign Minister met with campaigners from CEMUJER to discuss regulating the international arms trade. A press statement was also distributed to the media and the public.
Haiti
The Minister of Foreign Affairs met with campaigners from OFAT and other NGOs to discuss the Arms Trade Treaty, as part of activities including a press conference. A press statement was also issued to tv and radio broadcasters.
Mexico
Flowers and campaign information were handed out to passing drivers in the "Ejercito Nacional" street in Mexico City (left).
UN Security Council members were called upon to support the Arms Trade Treaty in a letter writing campaign launched by the Control Arms coalition.
