Pakistan: Press conference

The government must enforce effective arms control legislation, urged Sustainable Peace and Development Organisation (SPADO), Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme (CAMP) and Human Development Promotion Group (HDPG) at a press conference on 22 May.

In particular, they highlighted the need for the government to ratify the UN Firearms Protocol and establish a National Commission on small arms. They also highlighted the gun problem in Pakistan, particularly in the frontier region of Peshawar. The press conference received widespread media coverage.
