This year’s Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence is scheduled for 11-18 May 2015.

The Security Council open debate on "The human cost of the illicit transfer, accumulation, diversion and misuse of small arms and light weapons"(SALW) took place at the UN in New York on 13 May. 

This year's Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence takes place from 11-18 May.

IANSA member, Indian Institute for Peace, Disarmament & Environmental Protection, with the support and guidance from Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms & Light Weapons arranged a seminar on "Illegal Trade of Small Arms: Effects on Society - Role of Parliamentarians" on 9th April 2014 in Hyderabad, South India.

This is important information for NGOs on the second Open-ended Meeting of Governmental Experts of the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat, and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons and All Its Aspects.
