IANSA welcomes our new UN Liaison Officer, Rose Welsch. She takes over from Michele Poliacof, whom we thank for her years of dedicated service, and for agreeing to continue sharing her wisdom and advice with us. Rose will be responsible for coordinating civil society participation in the Sixth Biennial Meeting of States on Small Arms (BMS6), to be held at UN Headquarters in New York 6-10 June 2016.
IANSA has a presence at UN Headquarters these two weeks to ensure that civil society is strong and visible at the 2012 Review Conference on the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (UNPoA), taking place from the 27th August to 7th September.
The summaries below provide some highlights of the work of the Review Conference.
