The UK section of Amnesty International is calling on leaders of the major political parties in the UK to commit to supporting a strong and effective Arms Trade Treaty.

Actor, director and producer Michael Douglas showed his support for IANSA member the Brady Campaign against Gun Violence on a poster for the campaign ‘Too Many victims’, launched on 8 January ahead of the first anniversary of the 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

Stray bullets have killed on average one person every week in Colombia since 1990, according to IANSA member Centro de Recursos para el Análisis de Conflictos (CERAC). In a new study, prepared with support from the Small Arms Survey and the University of Geneva, they find that this type of violence is increasing, with 700 deaths documented in the last 10 years.
