Full Members of IANSA are civil society organisations whose work includes action to stop firearm proliferation and misuse. They must sign and adhere to the Members’ Charter, and support the mission statement, values and current policy positions of IANSA and demonstrate that some of their activities further the mission.

Millions of people, including IANSA members, all over the world marked the International Day of Peace on 21 September.

On 7 September, National Focal Points and civil society representatives from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda completed a month-long training of trainers on gender and small arms in Kampala, Uganda.

Redepaz Antioquia

From 3-11 September, IANSA member Redepaz is organising a Week for Peace in the Antioquia region of Colombia in cooperation with the Governor of Antioquia, local and religious authorities, government and private sector organisations, academic research groups and civil society organisations.

At least 16,485 firearms have gone missing from the inventories of US arms manufacturers since 2009 "without a record of being legally sold", according to a new report by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

More than 200,000 illegal guns are in civilian hands in Peru, according to IANSA member Red Peruana para el Desarme Civil, la Cultura de Paz y la Seguridad Ciudadana (REPEC).
