Full Members of IANSA are civil society organisations whose work includes action to stop firearm proliferation and misuse. They must sign and adhere to the Members’ Charter, and support the mission statement, values and current policy positions of IANSA and demonstrate that some of their activities further the mission.

Elections are taking place in several countries in East and Central Africa this year and IANSA members are taking an active role to campaign for a peaceful vote.

The Nigerian section of West African Action Network on Small Arms has expressed concern about the government’s recent inauguration of a national task force in response to the proliferation of small arms in Nigeria.

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) of Costa Rica has initiated a petition demanding an embargo on the shipment of weapons to Latin America and the declaration of Latin America as an arms-free zone.

The West African Action Network on Small Arms (WAANSA) participated in the regional seminar “Towards strengthening the role of Parliaments in crisis prevention and recovery in West Africa” in Accra, Ghana, on 28-29 June.
