Angolan Center For Teaching Peace
Organises A Workshop On Arms Management

A Workshop on Small arms management will take place in Luanda on September 5-6, 2002, hosted by The Angolan Center For Teaching Peace. The workshop is aimed at mobilizing the Civil society and state actors to discuss, analyze and take action on the proliferation of small arms in
Angola, which is a matter of concern owing to the high level of criminality.

The organizers seek to streamline information within the national Network and with society at large, improve integrating with IANSA and prepare a National Conference on the same issues.
More than 25-organizations have already confirmed their presence and are interested to join the International action network on Small arms as participants.

Foreign NGO's such as the ICRC (RED-CROSS), Handicap International France, Save the Children, Unicef, Medecins Sans Frontieres, OCHA are invited in the capacity of observers.
