Southern Sudan: "Elections without guns" campaign update

The “Elections without Guns” campaign is rolling out through Southern Sudan. Last week it was launched in Malakal, capital of the Upper Nile State. During a public lecture at the State University, IANSA member Stephen Pande from SSANSA said: “Small arms discourage people from voting. If security is not guaranteed or guns are present in political rallies, many citizens who have to walk long distances to polling stations may shy away from venturing outside their homes”.
