IANSA members call for peaceful elections

Elections are taking place in several countries in East and Central Africa this year and IANSA members are taking an active role to campaign for a peaceful vote. In Burundi, Ligue Burundaise des Droits de l'Homme – ITEKA participated as observers and Good Generation of Burundi/ Bonne Generation du Burundi has held meetings to raise awareness among young people about the negative effects of guns and to promote peace and non-violence around the elections this month. In Rwanda, Association BETHESAIDA has launched a campaign for a gun free election, scheduled for 9 August.
