Belgium: National Peace Week focuses on Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)

From the International Day of Peace on 21 September until 2 October, activists across Belgium including IANSA members Pax Christi Vlaanderen will mark Belgian National Peace Week. This year, the campaigners said they will “focus on the harm caused by the uncontrolled trade and diversion of arms, and the call for a strong and robust ATT”. Throughout the country, public actions, school workshops, film screenings, conferences and debates will be held to inform the public, the press and politicians, and to foster broad support for the ATT. A roundtable will also be held at the Belgian parliament where civil society will meet politicians and urge the Belgian government to speak out for a robust ATT. More information, resources and the programme for the week is available in French and Dutch.
