There are around 17 million guns in Brazil

According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the United Nations:
· Every 15 minutes, someone dies from a gunshot wound
· More people have been killed by guns in the last decade than in any other country in the world, including those at war.
· Firearms kill more people than motor-vehicle injuries
· Firearms injuries are the primary cause of death for young males 15-24
