Italy: Lula meets campaigners

Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva will meet a delegation from the Rete Disarmo per il Disarmo (the Italian disarmament network) at 18.00, 16 October in the Brazilian embassy, Rome.
In London, some members of the Brazilian community demonstrated at the Brazilian embassy. Brazilian artists and street performers will attend to create a carnival atmosphere. Click here for a video
In the evening there was a debate on gun use, a screening of a documentary on violence in Rio de Janeiro by the acclaimed director of "City of God", and Brazilian theatrical and musical performances.

Angola: Interviews on Catholic radio
Radio Ecclesia interviewed Angola 2000 during the main news bulletin on 16 October at 18.30. The same interview was broadcast again on 17 October at 07:30.
Paraguay: Voting stall
In Asunción, Control Arms campaigners organised a stall to gather statement of support from members of the public, including members of the large Brazilian community. There were posters urging Brazilians to vote "Yes". The event received TV coverage.
Spain: Rally at embassy
In Madrid, there was a demonstration at the Brazilian embassy organised by Amnesty International – Spain and Intermón Oxfam. It involved:
Brazilian music

showing Banners and big balloons with the word "SIM"
putting adhesives (A4 size) on T-shirts, with word SIM
Netherlands: Rally in the Hague
Representatives from Amnesty International and UNOY Peacebuilders held a sitting in front of the Brazilian embassy and marched to the nearby Peace Palace where the International Court of Justice is located. They informed bystanders about the referendum.
Paul Huber (UNOY Peacebuilders) said: "Brazilians can be proud of themselves for being the forerunners with a popular vote on arms sale. Their vote will show what the rest of the world is dreaming of. With a SIM they will achieve peace and justice in Brazil!"
Turkey: Rally and Brazilian music
About 20 supporters rallied in front of the Brazilian Embassy in Ankara. They danced to Brazilian music and shouted slogans in Portuguese. The media attended.
