Illustrated book on gun violence launched in India

An illustrated book highlighting the need for a strong and effective Arms Trade Treaty has been published by the Control Arms Foundation of India.

The book was launched by Dr Kapila Vatsyayan, a parliamentarian in the Rajya Sabha (upper house) on 3 July 2008 in New Delhi.

The book is the latest in a growing list of visual materials developed by IANSA members to promote the campaign. Further examples were displayed in many countries during this year's Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence (2-8 June). Click here to view samples of the materials.

It was developed as part of the Control Arms Global Parliamentary Action, during which campaigners are obtaining support for a Parliamentarian's Declaration for an ATT. Over 1000 parliamentarians have signed the declaration to date.
