Pakistan: child activists support Million Faces Petition

Children collected signatures for the Million Faces Petition

Children working through the Human Rights Education Program (HREP) in Pakistan collected 23,995 faces to add to the Million Faces Petition for the Control Arms campaign. The children engaged in education and advocacy within their schools and communities, and interacted with panelists and government representatives during two days of activities related to arms proliferation. At the UN First Committee in October 2006, the Control Arms campaign will be demanding that governments pass a resolution to begin negotiations on an international Arms Trade Treaty that will help keep arms out of the hands of human rights abusers. Click here to support the campaign for an Arms Trade Treaty by joining the Million Faces petition.
