Workshop

The workshop was co-organised by the Indian Institute for Peace, Disarmament & Environmental Protection (IIPDEP) and IPPNW - Central India.

In her presentation, Dr Nalini Kurvey gave detailed information about the women's movements in Europe, USA and African countries against the discrimination of women in the world. And how women continued to struggle for their rights.

Later she said that as the developing countries we are fighting for the economic, social status and worried about health problems, women in the world are fighting  on various fronts. She informed that globally women are fighting to reduce the ill effects of small arms & light weapons and the menace caused by these weapons. She described the effects of small arms proliferation on women in North East India, Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of India.

An exhibition was organised about the effects of small arms, effects of nuclear weapons, menopausal care, diet advice etc. Later on health checks were provided free of cost. 64 women from all walks of life attended the workshop and exhibition.
