United Nations Second Biennial Meeting of States on Small Arms and the Programme of Action
11-15 July 2005
Governments met at the United Nations in New York, USA, 11-15 July to review progress on the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms.

This year's conference saw governments including civil society representatives in their national delegation as recommended by the conference Chair Ambassador Patokallio.

The conference was an ideal opportunity for civil society organisations to lobby for tough measures to stop gun violence. IANSA released a report with the Biting the Bullet project evaluating the global implementation of the PoA.
