The United Nations Review Conference on Small Arms and Light Weapons was held at UN Headquarters in New York (US), from 26 June to 7 July 2006. It was the first review of the 2001 UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons.

Over 100 civil society organisations from 70 countries travelled to New York to support the Review Conference.

The Review Conference did not reach a substantive conclusion, despite various revised drafts of an outcome document that had been prepared by the President since the UN Preparatory Committee in January 2006.

Government statements
Many governments made statements during a high-level opening section of the Conference.

Intergovernmental organisations
A number of important inter-governmental organisations made statements to the RevCon, including UN humanitarian agencies and regional disarmament centres.
