Argentina: IANSA members attend conference on arms trafficking

Several IANSA members including Sou da Paz and Viva Rio from Brazil, and Amnesty International Chile participated in a conference on regional arms trafficking, in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 9-10 December. The main objective of the event was to strengthen the collaboration between states and civil society in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Cesar Marin of IANSA spoke at the event. Participants included members of the Argentinean judiciary, police and ministries of defence and foreign affairs. The event was organised by the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress, Association for Public Policy (APP) and Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, with support from the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
