Guns destroyed in Serbia

28,285 weapons were destroyed in Zeleznik, Serbia on 7 December. The Serbian Ministry of Interior organised the destruction with support from SEESAC. The European Union funded the event as part of their ‘Strategy to combat the illicit accumulation and trafficking of SALW and their ammunition’. The objectives of this strategy include supporting states in “the reduction of stocks to levels consistent with countries' legitimate security needs”.
