Mauritius has adopted a new law regulating gun possession. The law includes user licensing and gun registration, and also regulates private security companies.

Southern Sudan: War ends, but the guns remain

Although the war in Southern Sudan has ended, many people remain heavily armed. The devastating consequences have been described by a journalist from a UK newspaper who visited cattle farmers in the region.


100 days update
There have been events in at least 25 countries so far as part of the 100 days countdown towards the UN small arms review Conference (RevCon).


Nepal: Report on police misuse of guns

As the security situation in Nepal worsens, civilians are being shot by both the insurgents and the police. Several IANSA members belong to the Human Rights Treaty Monitoring Committee, which has been investigating several shootings and urges all armed factions to uphold international law.
