Getting informed about women and gun violence

New Resources
Research and policy discussions on gun violence have historically treated the issue as if it only affected men. But a growing body of work takes note of women and includes gendered approaches to addressing the problem. Please take note of these great new resources – and pass the word along!

It's In Our Hands — Stop Violence Against Women

A 122-page campaign report by Amnesty International details how “from the battlefield to the bedroom, women are at risk,” and states that governments “are failing to address the real 'terror' of our world that millions of women face every day." Campaign goals include working to fight impunity for perpetrators of violence against women, seeking the abolition of laws that discriminate against women and holding states accountable under international and domestic laws to prevent and punish all acts of violence against women, during peacetime or conflict.
